Our Stories
StreetWorks New Home

By Joanne Lambden,
On August 14 our current two year lease comes to an end and our mighty heavenly Father, who sees our needs before we do, has blessed StreetWorks with not just a new space, but a bigger space that has everything we have needed so desperately as the work has continued to grow.
As many of our Church family would know from experience as you come to serve food on the 6 weekly roster, space has well and truly run out at our current location. So our ‘Lounge’ as we call it, is now moving to 1 Peters Lane, Pialba. We are sad to be leaving Torquay, where are ministry really first started, but are sure that the Lord has led us to this new premises, that is two and half times bigger than our current location!
What a blessing the last two years has been as we have witnessed very broken lives being transformed to follow Jesus. Johnny, our fearless leader, has baptised more than 10 of our friends and many others have been present for ‘couch time’, the informal fellowship sharing God’s Word and message of love, after the Monday evening meal.
Each and every one of our volunteers would also testify as to how God has been working in each of our lives, breaking down strongholds and teaching us more about His love for us, and seeing His supernatural protection as the Holy Spirit guides, disciplines and stretches out of our comfort zones, for God’s glory.
If you are interested to learn more about this ministry, and believe God may be inviting you to join us on this mission, please have a look at the stories on our new website www.kindnessworks.com.au, and prayerfully consider how you might support and/or join the work.
Contact John Dearden or Jo Lambden if you would like to talk to someone about serving in this ministry or supporting it in some way.
