Volunteer of the Week

Paul Morrell

Paul and Chris Morrell have attended HBBC since the early 2000s because they had family living in Hervey Bay. Whenever they visited them, they enjoyed the fellowship at this church. When they moved permanently to Hervey Bay in 2018, HBBC naturally became their home.

POSITION TITLE:
I am privileged to be the Counting Team coordinator and enjoy volunteering in other parts of the Church.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU SERVED IN THIS POSITION?
My journey began about five years ago when Eddie Frost invited me to join the counting team. A few months later, I found myself in the coordinator's role, a position I inherited when the previous coordinator left. At that time, I was still learning the ropes, so it was a challenging but rewarding experience. I leaned heavily on the existing team's expertise, and their support was invaluable.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU SERVE IN THIS CAPACITY?
As Coordinator, I try to keep regular contact with the team and manage people as I set up rosters to ensure two volunteers are always ready to handle the money on Monday morning. I also get to be part of the team and count the offerings every few weeks.

WHAT IS A HIGHLIGHT SERVING IN THIS ROLE?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is leading this wonderful team. They are always ready to go the extra mile, supporting each other and stepping in when needed. Their camaraderie and willingness to cover for one another truly embody the spirit of our church community.

Thank you, Paul, for being a part of the HBBC community and serving God together.
