Approval

Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God.
If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant.
Galatians 1:10
We live in a world that is dominated by approval ratings. The more ‘likes’ we get, the more motivated we are into that direction. So often it is the crowd that determines our steps rather than good sense or moral conviction. We might know what is true and what is right, but ultimately the pressures of the crowd will sway us.

This is a pitiful way to live since the crowd can be so easily persuaded. We learn this in the story of Jesus when the crowd that shouted “crucify him” was the exact same crowd that a week earlier was praising him as the Messiah.

If pleasing the crowd determines our way to live, then our lives will be tossed back and forth by every whim and fad and trend. But if our goal is to win the approval of God, we become as steady as a rock in this ever-moving world. Living to please God keeps us steady, like a compass.

Sometimes people will be on my side. Sometimes they will reject me.

But so long as God is approving of me, I am okay.

God bless you and your family
