Chatterbox Prayers
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

On Sunday we heard from Brett about how we can speak with God. Although God needs our respect and honour, he also wants us to treat him as a friend. Brett called this kind of prayer "chatterbox" prayers, meaning when we are going about our day we are chatting to our Father and friend. He likened the conversation to having a coffee with a friend at a cafe.
I love this imagery and really try to follow this model of prayer myself. It reminds me of the verse 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing". Well how does one pray without ceasing? We can't be on our knees all day as God instructs us to work, serve and so on. Praying without ceasing must look something like the "chatterbox prayers" Brett talked about. Sharing your life with God and making sure you're open and listening for him to speak back to you. Inviting Him into all areas of your life.
