Teaching at Bayside Christian College

I feel incredibly blessed to teach at Bayside Christian College, sharing God's message with children every day. It's amazing to witness His presence in my life, especially when my husband, Matt, and I moved to Hervey Bay for this opportunity. As a qualified Early Childhood and Primary teacher, I was previously working at an early childhood centre in Brisbane. After settling into our new home and feeling restless, I prayed about my next steps and decided to apply for Christian teaching positions across Queensland, ultimately choosing Bayside.
Working at Bayside has been a true pleasure. It has given me countless opportunities to discuss my faith and share the Gospel with children. Many of my colleagues feel called by God to be here, and I believe He has wonderful plans for our school, which our incredible leadership team is set to implement.
An exciting development for our school's growth is the launch of the Masterplan on October 10th. This initiative will help us continue to provide “the care that others only dream of,” along with improved facilities and resources for an enhanced educational environment.
The best part of teaching at Bayside is the daily opportunity to lead devotions during homeroom and to encourage my students as they pray for each other's prayer requests. One moment that will always stay with me is when a student said, “Before I came to this school, I didn’t know about God, but now I pray to Him at home every day!” Nurturing the seeds of faith in my students is a blessing. Even if I don’t see all those seeds grow during my time with them, I trust that God has a plan for each of them as they grow and mature.
