Life as a Pastor's Wife

Hello, my name is Debbie, and I have been married to Brett for 35 years and we have six beautiful children and four grandchildren:
David (married to Hannah with a son Noah)
Emily (married to Grant with children Charlotte and Jacob. They live here in Hervey Bay)
Nancy (married to Tom with baby Annie)
Peter (married to Maddy)
Sally and Isaac live here with us.
We feel very blessed to have worked serving God in ministry for most of our married life.
We have served in many different churches, mostly in rural and regional areas of Queensland. God has taught us many things, and we have grown in our faith as we have experienced different challenges. There always seemed to come a time when we would start to feel unsettled and feel that our time was up in the church where we were serving. That was a difficult time as we grew to love the people we were serving, and they became family to us. As we prayed together, we knew we had to follow God‘s call on our lives wherever he took us, trusting He knew what was best for us and His Church.
It was similar in Rockhampton, though a lot harder in many ways because we had been there for 12 years. We knew it was time to leave, but God had not revealed to us where we would be and where we would be going. So, in faith, we stepped down, prayed, and waited for God to show us. In time, we felt we should apply to serve at Hervey Bay Baptist. We were not sure if we would be accepted. Still, we were excited about the possibility as it had always been a secret dream to live one day in beautiful Hervey Bay.
Over the years, we have seen how God has blessed us and given us the desires of our hearts in His perfect timing. We felt right at home straight away, and every day we wake up amazed at God‘s beautiful plan.
Thank you, everyone, for welcoming us and making us feel like family. We are enjoying getting to know each of you. We are very thankful for those who pray for us. We can sense your prayers and appreciate them very much.
