God in Creation

"When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?"
Psalm 8:3-4
Yesterday, I had one of my rarer moments that between appointments I stopped at Point Vernon and overlooked the vastness of the ocean. I got to stop and enjoy God's creation. I saw the trees blowing in the wind, the wonderful array of colours and seeing K'gari (Fraser Island) in the distance. It reminded me how small I am in comparison, especially when I think of how big our earth is and then how big our universe is... yet, in all of that, knowing the love and value God has for me.

It reminded me of the verse in Psalm 8:3-4, "When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?"

For many people, being in God's creation is very grounding, and an important opportunity to re-centre themselves on Him. Wherever we are, we can be reminded of God's handiwork. The greatest artist that ever lived, as He moulded and shaped everything and then painted it all in vibrant colours. May you take some time to reflect on God's creation this week and thank Him for something that you enjoy.

Your brother in Christ,
James
