Devotional

The heart of a true servant never seeks glory for itself, but only glory for the one it serves. If our hearts are truly devoted to Jesus, then we will seek His will and purpose above all else. This is a risk for us. It is a risk because we have to trust that Jesus’ plan for us is greater in purpose than what our plans for ourselves would have been. Some people will not live like this. They will not take the risk in trusting Jesus into the unknown, so they play it safe, only doing the things they know they can manage in their own strength and, thereby, missing the opportunities to shine like God would have them shine. Instead, let us be like John the Baptist who desired only one thing, that Jesus would become greater.
