A Clear Mind

The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.
Luke 8:14
Luke 8:14
There are a lot of competing interests that vie for our attention. These interests come in the form of things we must do, things we should do, things we enjoy doing, things we are curious about and things we are afraid of. They rattle around in our mind like a deep drawer filled with useful but unorganised tools.
We can do ourselves a favour by training our mind to know what we are living for, and to allow that reason to form the framework upon which everything else is organised.
Our devotion to Jesus prompted by faith, our service for Him in confident hope, and our love toward others form a framework around which everything else in life fits. If Jesus does not provide that base framework, then our minds can easily be tossed back and forward, frantically scrummaging around for what to do with our lives.
If we are too distracted from our calling to follow Jesus, then the distractions of this world will choke out any real usefulness we have for Him.
Whatever it is you are doing. Do it all in His name and for His purposes.
God bless you and your family,
Brett
