Heart Conditioned

They said to each other, "Didn't our hearts burn within us as He talked with us
on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?"
Luke 24:32
on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?"
Luke 24:32
The heart often recognises God before the head does. Many people have the testimony of coming to faith based on something they felt rather than something that they understood. It is what happens when our spirits resonate with God’s Spirit.
The disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognise Jesus, but something in their spirit resonated as Jesus explained the scriptures to them. They described it as a burning in their hearts.
The way of Jesus is more than just a knowledge of Jesus. It is also an experience of Him; spirit, mind and body. Have you ever felt a burning in your heart for God?
As we grow in Christ, we grow in knowledge but also in heart, that is, our instincts, conscience, preferences, attraction, and desire, all line up with Jesus, so we then learn to recognise Him at a level beyond intellect. This effects our decision making and our ability to be guided by Him.
The world would say, “follow your heart,” but the spirit says, “condition your heart” so that it becomes in tune with God and His will.
God bless you and your family,
Brett
