Missions and Ministry
Greetings From Ukraine
G’day Hervey Bay Baptist Church!
Greetings again from war-torn Ukraine!
I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for your support and for your prayers for us and for Ukraine.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you again in the Bay. It was very encouraging to be able to share about deep things from our life in Ukraine and also answer your questions. The fishing trip for Nikita and Timofei was a big highlight.
Thank you for helping us rest and rejuvenate.
We’ve been back in Ukraine now for a few weeks and have gotten back into the swing of things.
Photo: First night back home. Babushka (Grandma) Lydia made some fantastic welcome home to Ukraine soup!
The last few days have gotten down below -10oC and with a little dusting of snow. But at those temperatures the sun often shines brightly. That is so much better than the months of gloomy grey. Also, I’m glad that it isn’t windy. That would make everything bitterly cold.
Feb 24th marked the full-scale invasion’s 3 year mark. So much has happened over these last years that sometimes it is hard to look back and analyse. So, much emotion and hard decisions and ‘heavy’ losses. Yet our calling is sure and the Lord is faithful. He is at work.
There are BIG things brewing internationally around the possible peace negotiations. Trump, Putin, Ukraine and Europe… lots of stuff. It is an emotional rollercoaster. So, we are guarding our heart. That is something that we’ve learnt over the last three years. Please keep praying for Peace in Ukraine.
We are moving forward with our enterprise project. Our next goal is to achieve feeding and processing 300kg/h of plastic into liquid fuel, gas and charcoal. It is great to see that the team is becoming more proficient. However, there are still a bunch of troubleshooting, process improvements that need to be done.
Prayer needs: For God’s wisdom, protection and provision to see things through to launching and generating sustainable income for mission. Please also pray for the salvation and discipleship of our workers and for safety during all our processes.

And for us to finally get the entire production running smoothly at its potential. We also need God’s provision, wisdom, guidance and protection as we are going through all things “legal” e.g tax, licensing, building reclassification, land rent etc. Only by God’s grace and mercy!
Just a week or so ago we achieved a special milestone. We were able to run our big 100kW generator on our pyrolysis gas for a few hours. We need God’s wisdom, protection and provision to see things through to launching and generating sustainable income for mission. Please also pray for the salvation and discipleship of our workers.
Here is a link to a video of our 100kW diesel generator converted to run on pyrolysis gas running for the first time. It is very cool to run your own equipment on fuel that you’ve made yourself.
I understand that this may not be your thing… but God has an amazing way of networking people through the weirdest connections. So, please pray that we find a petrol/chemical engineer and a bio chemist Project Developer for R&D Bio-fertilizer production, composting & pilot scale farming. These key people are needed for us to take our project to a new level. Maybe you know someone who knows someone else...?

Olya is really enjoying being back at her role of People Care provider and Training Officer for OM in Ukraine.
Photo: Here I am at the training course for our Ukrainian members where they are learning about how to raise a prayer and financial partnership team.
Please pray for these 12 Ukrainians that we help find people to support and journey with them in their missionary calling in Ukraine.
Our boys, Nikita and Tymofii are back at school. The air-attack sirens continue to sound. But at least we are safe.
If you’d like to drop me a line and send a photo so I can remember what you look like, that’d be great. Also feel free to share a prayer need.
