The Kingdom of God has come upon you

But if I am casting out demons by the power of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.
Luke 11:20
Luke 11:20
The Jews looked forward to the coming of the Kingdom of God. In their minds, and through their understanding of prophecy, the Kingdom of God would come with great power and authority through a Messiah who would rise up politically, militarily and religiously to rule over not only Israel, but also the whole world. They hungered for this. They looked intently into the scriptures and studied in detail what the time of the Messiah would be like. Much the same way as many Christians intently study the topic of the end times.
And yet when Jesus came, He brought the Kingdom of God into the world in a way that was unexpected. The breaking of God’s Kingdom into the world looked nothing like the Jewish interpretations of scripture. The Kingdom of God was not one of politics and military power. The power of Jesus was displayed in much deeper ways. It was a spiritual power that healed the sick, set people free from demonic oppression, conquered death, and opened the doorway to eternal life. When Jesus confronted the Jewish leaders about His authority, He proclaimed that “the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.”
The Kingdom of God has indeed come into the world through Jesus. The nature of this Kingdom’s power breaks eternal bonds and spiritual strongholds. It is not as concerned with the temporary, but invites souls into an eternal belonging that goes far beyond the concerns of this life. We belong to this Kingdom by faith in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God bless you and your family,
Brett
