More Than You Think

Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

We often miss the fact that the God who is with us is infinitely stronger than the forces and circumstances that are opposed to us.
Elisha’s servant could not see what Elisha saw and so he was afraid. We are prone to fear when we fail to understand the power and the presence of God. And that fear cripples us. It is the same fear that caused the Israelites to turn back into the wilderness instead of taking the promised land. It is the same fear that caused the one talent man to bury his talent. And it is the same fear that makes us shrink back, to stay silent, to say no to God.
We lack confidence because we do not see that God is with us in powerful ways. Unlike the servant of Elisha who needed to see, we who follow Jesus are called to walk by faith. We trust in what we do not see, that the Lord of heaven’s armies is with us.
God bless you and your family,
Brett
