Missions and Ministry

Connection is Ministry

‘Connection is ministry, not a means to an end.’
Leonie Quayle
Jesus’ response to the question of the greatest commandment in Matthew 22:36–40 offers a profound message of holistic connection, revealing the fulfilment of God’s ultimate design for our lives. We are first invited to prioritise our relationship with God - wholly and wholeheartedly, with every part of our being. In harmony with this foundational love, we are then called to connect with others and with ourselves in mutual care, compassion, and humble devotion.

It offers a clear insight into how, as God’s treasured possessions, we are not only able to flourish and live our best lives, but also - more importantly - glorify God as ambassadors of His Kingdom.

How well do you respond to this invitation to be part of this ‘connection-centered’ life?

Here we are, hard-wired for relationship, image bearers designed to not only tell the story of God, but also live it fully connected to God, each other and ourselves.

Yet, we live in a world deeply marred by false, broken, and abused connections - where many are left isolated in profound loneliness. Countless people genuinely do not know that God loves them, cares for them, and takes a personal interest in their lives. Instead, they feel forgotten, abandoned, angry and alone.

COACH Family and Youth Mentoring is a ministry borne of the belief that connection is ministry. It is everything just as Jesus said.

Our mission is to build connections so that God can gently be revealed for who He is.

We now have an open door to partner with Carinity Education Glendyne to mentor their students. The leadership and staff are so appreciative of HBBC’s partnership in this venture.

Can you give an hour per week during school time to connect with a student? We’ll train you, support you, ensure you are resourced and pray for you.

We currently have more than twelve referrals from the school and only seven mentors available. Can you join us?

Connect with Di Priest to find out how you can join the team, or sign up to attend the training on Sat May 17. Register here.
