THE SUPERNATURAL

Then He took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces.
He gave them to His disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd.
Mark 8:6
Jesus blessed it, and it multiplied. When God is involved in something, when it has His blessing, when it has His anointing, then what is produced is so much more than what we can possibly produce with our own resources. Humanly speaking, we can achieve amazing things still. Through intelligence, hard work and cooperation, humans have the ability to do incredible things. Yet, when God steps in, this effort is multiplied in supernatural ways. As a church, as we work together diligently and in unity, we will achieve a measure of success. But, I believe what God wants for us is more than human success. I believe He wants to reveal His glory through us. He will multiply our efforts way beyond what we could achieve on our own. And the result of this will be, “Wow! Isn’t God amazing!”

In this story of Jesus feeding the multitude, the disciples looked at the challenge before them as insurmountable. Yet, Jesus was showing them that nothing is impossible. When they distributed the food, they trusted in Jesus even though none of them could imagine how such measly amounts could feed such a vast crowd. When we are led by the Lord into something, let us not be weighed down by the worry of human limits. Let us, instead, seek to understand first what God is saying. Then trust Him to lead us forward from there.
