Earlier this year, life took an unexpected turn when I suffered a serious fall that left me with multiple pelvic fractures, a broken wrist, and a dislocated arm. While I certainly wasn’t grateful for the injuries, I quickly realised how much I had to thank God for in the days that followed.

The fall happened early one morning at the back of my home. I had no phone with me, couldn’t move because of the pain, and none of my neighbours could hear me calling out. Then it started to rain—and, to make matters worse, even my dog deserted me, running inside for cover! But in God’s perfect timing, that very morning, I had tradesmen booked to install security screens. Half an hour later, they arrived, found me, and called the ambulance. If it had been any other day, the outcome could have been far more serious.

The weeks that followed were a challenge. I couldn’t walk unaided for months, and a cast on my arm limited what I could do myself. But God’s grace carried me through. He sent an army of my church family who showed up with meals, groceries, coffee (a true blessing!), lifts to appointments, and constant encouragement. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and love that surrounded me.

To the amazement of my doctors, my recovery was much faster than they anticipated. My fractures healed rapidly, and I regained strength earlier than expected. I believe this was God’s healing hand at work, along with the faithful prayers of so many in our church.

I’ve always been grateful for God’s daily provisions, but through this experience I discovered a more profound sense of gratitude—a fresh awareness of His constant care and unfailing love.
