40 Days of Prayer

40 Days of Prayer - Week 3
Having a vision is not the same thing as having ideas. Over the next couple of weeks we will be ‘seeking’ God in order to tell the difference between Godly vision or just good ideas. What is God planting in our minds that is different from what we would come up with ourselves?

Consider these verses:

Habakkuk 2:1-3
I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how He will answer my complaint.
Then the LORD said to me, "Write My answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

Hebrews 10:35-36
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.

Philippians 4:19-20
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Matthew 15:36-37
Then He took the seven loaves and the fish, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to the disciples, who distributed the food to the crowd. They all ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food.

In order to prompt us in this journey of vision, consider over the next week these questions:

What is God already blessing? Where are we already seeing God resourcing us? How is the hand of God at work in the life of our church?

As the largest church in Hervey Bay, what are our obligations to the city? How is God setting us up to be impactful on the community around us?
