Into The Secret Corners

The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed,
and all that is secret will be made known to all.
Luke 12:2
These are quite sobering words from Jesus. There is really nothing that is hidden. We may be able to fool the people around us by pretending. But that is only temporary. There will come a day when nothing is hidden, because Jesus is the light, and He shines His glory into all the corners of our world. In the context of this verse, Jesus is talking about the Pharisees and their hypocrisy. Though they had an appearance of godliness, many of them were plainly evil and the main instigators behind the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus goes on to say that we should not be afraid of people, even if they can kill us. The one to fear is God.

For those who follow Jesus, we should not worry about putting on a show or impressing others with what we say, do, or own. We should always seek to make our whole lives full of genuine worship for God, even in the most secret places. Let God fill all the hidden corners of your life. Let the Holy Spirit cleanse every part. Then we will not be afraid and have no reason to be ashamed when God shines His light and reveals all.
