40 Days of Prayer

40 Days of Prayer - Week 5
This week we are capturing some of the thoughts so far and testing them before the Lord. Have we heard him correctly? Is this the direction we should go?

Over the 4 weeks so far we have gathered some Bible verses through our prayer time. Here are some of them.

Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Zechariah 4:6
Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 57:14
And it shall be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people's way.”

2 Corinthians 9:10
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
Through prayer this week let us test these thoughts

Ministry Priorities
The priority of raising up new workers and leaders to help with growth
This has been a major theme in all discussions and presented on Sunday 9th. This priority comes from what God has already started. In a way, we are ‘catching up’ with God.
A focus on what God is doing among children and youth
The biggest growth by far has been in the children and families space. Youth Alpha and Beach bash has also born fruit. With a changeover in youth staffing, this needs to be a high priority next year.
Increasing capacity of ministries that reach out into the community
Strengthen Kindness works, street works, Coach, RI, Chaplaincy. Looking for increased connection with Glendyne and Bayside Christian College schools.
Expanding our church capacity through planting and multiple services
Continuing this discussion. Neither of these options are possible without first strengthening our teams

Financial Priorities
Being a blessing. Give some away and trust God.
We ask our people to tithe, should we not set the same example. $50000 has already been set aside in a term deposit. Should we leave that for some other purpose that God will show us later?
Entering the next season with no or very little loan
It would seem that using the bulk of the money to complete the water tank project is popular. It feels right to most people not to go into debt if we do not need to.
TRUST. In all financial dealings, trust God. He will provide
We need to be careful to note how much fear determines what financial goals are set. No one would advocate reckless budgets but God has shown us that when there is a genuine need, he will provide.
