Why is prayer important?
The importance of prayer can sometimes be overlooked. For many of us, prayer becomes something we turn to when we need help or want God’s blessing. And in the busyness of life, it can easily slip into being an afterthought. But it’s worth asking—why is prayer so important?
Prayer helps us grow closer to God.
If I could sum up the importance of prayer in one simple thought, it would be this: prayer draws us closer to God. When we pray, we are inviting Him into every part of our lives. As we spend time talking with Him and listening to Him, we begin to know Him more deeply.
The more we draw near to God, the more we become aware of His presence with us—and He draws near to us too.
And when God is close, what is there to fear? What more do we need to strive for? Like Paul, we can live with courage and confidence, knowing that our mighty God is with us and for us.
