What a Beautiful Property

Psalm 19:1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.

I have recently increased my morning walks and so much enjoy looking up as soon as I get outside, worshiping God for His magnificent creation… and His presence.

I’ve also started another routine, sometimes walking our church property during my lunch break. Apart from giving my mind a bit of space and getting away from the computer (and those raucous staff we have ;) ), I have found a new appreciation for the beautiful property we have here.

Did you know that our property is just over 19 hectares (47acres)? And we are right in the middle of the Nikenbah & Dundowran Land Use & Infrastructure Planning Investigation that FCRC are considering. See map.

We recognise those who have come before us, being led by God to purchase this property. And ours is now the time to continue to be good stewards of what God has entrusted us. Maybe we won’t be around in 20 or 30 years to see ourselves in the middle of the city growth. But God sees it. And our privilege is to be a part of what He’s doing in the now. Listening. Praying. And being obedient to manage what we have, serving Him with the gifts He has given us.

Yes. Our mission is to multiply disciples of Jesus Christ that love God and serve others. And this is the foundation of everything we carry out at HBBC.

So how does this fit with being good stewards of our property? Well, why not join me and just dream a little?

  • A group of garden loving disciples, inviting new, or not yet Christians, to work as a team to produce a beautiful oasis, while sharing the love of Christ.
  • A small team of men carrying out maintenance tasks, while listening, encouraging & even praying for one another as they work.
  • A couple of friends, who take responsibility for a small section of garden to revitalise and care for God’s beauty, knowing that when others come, they too are touched by God’s beautiful creation, acknowledging that yes, they truly can see that He is God!

All this, knowing that in the future, we could very much be the central property amidst more schools, shopping centres and homes where people very much need to know the love of the God who created them.

So, why not bring your hat to church, and go for a wander around the property? Praying? Asking God what He has in store? How we can be good stewards in the here and now?

And just praising Him for all His creation, His provision that we can meet and worship together knowing that He alone is worthy.

Come, grab your hat, dream with me and let’s see what God has in store!

Together, in Him
