Brett Wilson

Senior Pastor

Brett has been in fulltime pastoral ministry since 1996 having studied at Malyon Theological college Queensland. He is married to Debbie and has 6 adult children and 4 grandchildren.
Brett has extensive experience in ministry including church planting, rural ministry, inner suburban and regional ministry and has served as a church planter, solo pastor, associate pastor, senior pastor and regional minister.
Brett has strong gifts in biblical preaching, teaching, and ministry training. He has a passion to grow in others a faith that penetrates their everyday life so that everything they do comes out of an overflow of their heart.
As Senior Pastor, Brett values relationships as the foundation of unity and effective teamwork and believes strongly in the ministry of prayer as the essential element in achieving God’s calling as a church.

James Dearden

Care  &  Life Groups Pastor

James has been working at the church since Jan 2020. He is married to Mel and has two children,  Zachary and Aria.  James is passionate to see people grow in their faith with God and also loves to see people be set free of their past sin, trauma, hurt and pain to reach their full potential that Christ has for them on this earth. He enjoys meeting with people one on one and discipling people in their faith. His spiritual gifts are pastoring, mercy and hospitality. 

Jo Lambden

Ministry Facilitator

Jo was raised with Missionary parents and spent a good deal of time in PNG as a young person. Jo and husband Andre moved from cold old Melbourne to the Bay at the end of 1994.  Married for 30 years and with two adult children, Jo was called to the Church in 2015 after many years in local government management and then private sector consulting.  

Colleen Fuller

Children's Ministry Director

Col joined the team in  2020. She and her husband, Russ, have been part of the church family for more than 20 years. Col also has a son, Jaydon, and her daughter, Jenna, has recently married and left the nest. Having a heart for parents and children, she believes children are a gift from God and longs to support children and families on all walks of life. In her spare time, she enjoys camping with friends, family, a coffee machine and a good book. 

Nicole Wilson

Office  Manager

Commencing on a casual basis in 2011 at our reception, Nicole has had previous adventures from traveling the East Coast of Australia in a Christian Band to serving with her husband and children with Missionary Aviation. She has lived in the cold of Victoria to the heat of Arnhem Land and a few places in between. Nicole loves serving God and has a particular passion to see His church become all that God designed her to be. 

Di Priest

COACH Coordinator

Di is Tassie born and bred, married to Phil for 41 years and is mum to three adult sons  & grandmother to 4 granddaughters.

Di has served in cross-cultural missionary work in PNG, and as Principal in two Christian schools on the North-West Coast of Tasmania, plus Director of School Chaplaincy ACT for 6 years and more recently served as Head of Learning Support and Wellbeing at Heritage Christian School in Port Macquarie. Di is now serving as the COACH Coordinator for Hervey Bay Baptist Church training volunteer mentors to provide care and support to disadvantaged families in the Wide Bay area.

Di is a trained counsellor, mentor and workshop facilitator and is continuing her studies in Professional Supervision. 

Matt Pampeyan

Worship & Tech Director

Matt joined the HBBC team in 2020. In 2019 Matt and his family moved to Hervey Bay from Seattle to start a new chapter in their lives and be closer to his wife, Carmen’s family.  They have four kids ,three girls and a boy. Matt has been in full-time ministry since 2003 working in various Worship & Tech roles. Matt’s passion is to see people encounter and connect with God through music. 

Josh Faint

Youth Director

Josh moved to Hervey Bay in 2020 to start work as a doctor. Always having a passion for youth and young people, he was excited to be able to join the team in 2023 to input into the lives of youth. He also shares this job with being a GP 3 days a week. He loves being a husband to Meisha and father to his 2 children, Reuben and Melody.

Lachlan Davis

Young Adults Director

Lachlan and his wife Ali have lived in Hervey Bay for over 5 years. He is working and training as a GP part-time while overseeing Young Adults ministry.
Lachlan loves the opportunity Young Adults ministry gives for growing in passion for God, his scripture, and people. Lachlan and Ali have recently welcomed a son to their family.
