Meet the Elders
Wade Lineburg
Elder
My name is Wade Lineburg, and I have been a part of HBBC for the past twenty-three years. I am married to my beautiful wife Karen, and together we have four children (though children no longer!), Jamie, Sam, Ben (engaged to Britney), and Ellie. We also have two gorgeous dogs, Ollie and Millie, and a cat called Chino.
Although we have been in the bay since 2000, we lived in Rockhampton for seven years prior to that where I worked in the bank. Now, I work as the Owner-Manager of BOQ here in Hervey Bay. Although I enjoyed serving on the worship team during the early years of my participation in HBBC, I decided it was a natural fit to serve God on the finance team. I have done so for the past 20 years, and I became an Elder of the church around 4 years ago.
It wasn't an easy decision to 'sign up' and become an Elder. There is a lot of time and responsibility involved. When I was first asked by our previous pastor, Pastor Ray, I prayed about it for a long time, and finally concluded that, although it would be challenging, God had given me the skills I needed to accept the opportunity and serve on the Eldership. Since then, God has revealed more to me about what my spiritual gifts are, and I endeavour to exercise them whenever I can.
Serving on the Eldership brings many challenges, but it also brings me great joy. One of the best parts is working closely with likeminded and passionate people who also desire to serve God and our church as much as I do. I am very passionate about seeing our church flourish and grow in spiritual maturity. I look forward to when we develop our love for Jesus together, and independently, and when we desire to join Him where He is working.
