Rubber on the Road
A few years ago, a Lutheran pastor in Rockhampton, Rev. Rob Edwards, wrote a little book called Unscary Evangelism. His intention was to get Christians to realise that evangelism was the breathing out of the church. He wanted his readers to see that real evangelism was simply Christians sharing what Jesus was doing in their lives.
Over the next 4 weeks, Keith and I want to try to sell you on simple evangelism. Sharing Christ in you with those around you who don’t have Christ in them. It’s a series which will encourage you to share Christ with your friends, family and work colleagues without stressing too much about it.
We want you to see that you don’t need to be a high-level theologian or a high-powered evangelist. You just need to be you talking about the amazing person who changed your life and blesses you every moment of every day.
The world is a place of hatred and pain, uncertainty and hopelessness. Many people today lack security and truth. They are looking for love in all the wrong places. But you have it all in Jesus Christ. You have peace, security and love by the bucketful, so start sharing it with the people that come within your sphere of influence.
Ask His Holy Spirit to show you who you should talk to. Or pray that God would bring them to you. Whichever way it happens, be prepared to take the opportunity when it comes. Who knows, you may help someone find real meaning in life and become adopted into God’s eternal family. Be brave! Be courageous! Step out in love to gossip the Gospel! God bless and empower you.
All my love,
Chris Ganter
