Meet the Staff

Nicole Wilson

Office Manager

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? What does your family situation look like? Originally from Ballarat Victoria, I have also lived in Arnhem Land, NT, and the Atherton Tablelands,  Nth Queensland before coming to beautiful Hervey Bay. Now an ‘empty nester’, I have 3 adult kids, 2 married and 4 grandkids. I currently work as the Office Manager, after commencing as a part time receptionist here in 2011.

What drew you to HBBC?
Our family chose to come to HBBC in 2008 when we moved here, as there was a vibrant youth ministry for our 3 teenagers at the time. The best part of HBBC for us is being a part of His family.

How long have you been following Jesus for? If you had to pick one story of Jesus’ ministry that stands out to you the most, what would it be? Why?
Although I grew up in a Christian home, I chose to follow Jesus for myself when I was 14.
One story!!? Okay, Nicodemus the Pharisee. Why? Because Jesus is just so wise in the way he communicates with anyone that comes to him. His response to Nicodemus gives us the gospel in a nutshell in John 3:16.

Is there a topic within Christianity that you’re particularly passionate about? Could you share what that is, and why you’re so passionate?
I love that God has created us for community. That there is a place for everyone, and everyone has equal worth in Him. I love that we can learn from any person we meet more of who God is, as we are all created in His image.

If you could be in your favourite place in the world, doing your favourite thing in the world, where would you be, and what would you be doing?
I’d have to say enjoying a good view from the top of mountain after a good hike. But I don’t get there very frequently, so I settle for a good book instead!
