Young Family Blessed by Life Group
There's something special about being in the Christian community.
When you have been a part of a church community for a long time, and have experienced the rallying cry of those brothers and sisters in a time of need, it's easy to forget that this experience is not always shared by those who do not have the same community connections.
This can be especially true for parents and carers of young kids. When you're caring for babies and toddlers, who truly need you in every physical and emotional way possible, it's often overwhelming to continue carrying on with your career, your home duties and your social connections.
On the other hand, it is so beautiful to hear instances where these young families have been blessed by their Christian family.
In this particular case, the blessing came through a Life Group, a group of people who meet regularly to share their week, encourage each other, study the Bible and pray.
Josh and Meisha are a young married couple with a two-year-old and young baby. Josh works two jobs, and both work 24/7 taking care of their kids. This couple recently found themselves utterly exhausted by the needs of their children and their daily responsibilities.
After a period of sleepless nights, for themselves and their children, Josh decided enough was enough. He sent an email to his Life Group asking for prayer.
His Life Group didn't just pray. Josh and Meisha received multiple meals, randomly dropped off at their door, with no questions asked. Friends volunteered to spend the afternoons with Meisha so she could get some rest. A surprise Saturday morning babysitter turned up with coffees and cake so that Josh and Meisha could recuperate for a few hours. And the surprises keep coming for Josh and Meisha, who are still receiving supports from their Life Group friends.
What a comfort it is, to know that Life Groups can provide an extended family, who will help you when you need it.
If you are looking for such a family, we invite you to learn more about Life Groups.
Thank you to Josh and Meisha for sharing your story with us.
