Christians in Community
105.1 Rhema Wide Bay
By Sally Kingi, Secretary of the Management Committee, 105.1 Rhema Wide Bay
Rhema Wide Bay, our Christian Community radio station, began in 1992. Originally one of 26 'Rhema' stations, we are now 1 of 6 in Australia. We proudly stand for God in our community, no compromise.
Recently, the Management Committee and I prayed and agreed that our station has the ability to unify our community by highlighting the personalities and teaching styles of local ministries, as well as promoting non-profit organisations such as Kindness Works, among many others. We have recently aired sermons and interviews from various churches across Hervey Bay, including Hervey Bay Baptist Church.
It is our goal to see true Discipleship achieved within the church! We believe in the ability to reach those who have wandered away from attending church, but feel the draw of God in their lives by being able to listen to inspiring music and messages. NCLS research, who recently did their latest survey, confirmed that Christian media has a large social impact.
Thank you to those at HBBC who support our ministry through engaging with our content and donating to our work. 105.1 Rhema Wide Bay is praying for a stronger membership and donor base to strengthen our stand in our community and continue to be a prominent media platform. We strive to remember that in all things, it is about GOD, and not us!
“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV).
