Introducing

Joanne Lambden

Hi, my name is Jo(anne) Lambden and I have been working at our Church for the last 8 years as your Ministry Facilitator.

Basically, the role was created by Keith and the Elders to take all non-pastoral matters off the work plate of the pastors, to enable them to concentrate on direct ministry matters. (non- direct matters, think WH&S, Child Protection, major roof repairs, Bayside College relocation project, 100 Anniversary of our Church celebration, insect plagues in our roof, sound proofing rooms and any other projects as required as well as oversight of Administration, Property, Human Resources and some input to finance).

My husband, Andre and I, moved up from Melbourne at the end of 1994 and happily have made Hervey Bay our home since then. Our son Jai and daughter Madeline were both born and raised in the Bay. Not long after we moved to the Bay, my sister and her then husband, Johnny Dearden, also moved to Hervey Bay and well, the rest they say is history…I am related by marriage and blood to about 40 people here at Church!!

My role in the office has been quite varied over the years. I came with management, policy, strategy and project management experience, and a passion for serving community. I think one of my spiritual gifts is acts of service, and I have been involved in teaching Sunday School (10 years), sat on property and maintenance sub-committee (about 5 years), running youth evening kitchen (3 years).

All this is accomplished with an amazing team of people - Nicole, Suzanka, Mel, Brian, Karen and Kevin plus all our many, many volunteers from cleaners to kitchen hands, baristas to gardeners, to Board members to name a few.

I have also been more recently blessed to have been on the ground floor for the establishment of Coach and StreetWorks as they were formed and developed into programs of Kindness Works. We were able to establish the not-for-profit Kindness Works Ltd and have been astounded how God has grown the work as many, many different people who love Jesus have come together to proclaim His ‘Kingdom come’ through serving and walking beside people in difficult life circumstances.

I love this Church family and am so excited to see all that He has planned for our future proclaiming the gospel through word and in truth and in deed.
