Renewed

Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17
2 Corinthians 5:17
By Brett Wilson
On Sunday I encouraged us to ask God to create in us a new heart, to submit ourselves to a spiritual work of God within us. This is the very essence of what the gospel is supposed to do in the Christian. The gospel is not just something that saves us from Hell like some kind of spiritual fire insurance but a transformational work. When the Holy Spirit enters into our souls, he cleanses us, renews us at a soul level and guides us so that the fruit of our lives reflects God.
There may be remnants of our old soul which pop up from time to time. These are temptations and sins which remind us of our need for God’s grace. But over time, our new nature which has been created in us by the Holy Spirit will become more and more dominant and visible.
So, continue in asking God to do a deep spiritual work within you.
God bless you on that journey,
Brett
