You Won't Miss Out

"So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers,
but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Matthew 6:31-32
but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Matthew 6:31-32
Will I miss out on life’s pleasures if I surrender all to Jesus? This is the sticking point for many people who hesitate about giving God their all. It is why many Christians try to live in two worlds, finding a balance between pleasure and surrender. They ride the rollercoaster between guilt and justification. Their souls never really finding joy in either.
The question itself expresses a lack of trust in God. It imagines that God is not capable of delivering to you the kind of pleasures that you think you need. But God offers something different. He offers fulfilment rather than pleasure. Pleasure is fleeting. Fulfilment lasts and is the source of true joy.
Unbelievers are caught up with a life of pleasure. They fear a life that misses out. This causes worry and stress. Believers on the other hand trust God. They know, even in the hard times that God is looking after them. This brings joy and peace. The difference between the unbeliever and the believer is their source of joy. When the source comes from God, it is powerful and eternal.
So don’t worry.
