The Light

This Sunday we start our new series focusing on Christmas and the reason Jesus needed to come in the first place. Over the following weeks we will be referring back to Exodus as an illustration of how God said He will come down in three different ways and how that works in the New testament also.
This week I will be kicking starting the series as I talk to John chapter 3:17-21. Jesus came to not condemn the world, but to save it. Not to judge, but bring redemption. Jesus is the light in this passage, and He, as the light, shines on all the dark places and darkness in people. He came to give us all His light, so we can accept Him and be a part of the Light. So then we too can be the light to all the world (Matthew 5:14-16). We too can be that light just like Jesus, because He is in us and with us.
As we come into this Christmas season may you reflect on how Jesus has brought light into your life, and where is He still shining light in your life. We will reflect on this more together on Sunday.
We are also sharing in communion this Sunday, so if you are able, read and reflect on 1 Corinthians 11:23-33, which will tie into the message.
Your brother in Christ,
James
