A Bold Claim

This week we celebrate Queensland day. The 6th of June is the day we mark our recognition as an official colony in 1859 and a formal state of the federation in 1901.
We enjoyed an inspiring prayer meeting on Tuesday night as we joined together with other Baptists around the state to pray together for God to do an amazing work of revival. I believe that God is answering these prayers. We were encouraged to pray boldly for God to do more than we ask or imagine.
On Tuesday morning for staff devotions, we were reading in Psalm 2. It is a well-known verse and is quite prophetic in its meaning as it applies to both King David and the Messiah. The kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ is not restricted to one people or one nation but is universal in nature. Therefore, the Psalm has its true fulfilment in the spread of the church across political borders and around the world.
I believe it is very fitting for us to claim Hervey Bay for the Lord’s possession. I urge all of us to pray boldly that the city of Hervey Bay becomes Christian. What seems impossible to us is possible with God. After all, he did say to ask.
May we be privileged in our time to see a miraculous work unfold in this place.
