The Word of God

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 4:12–13
On Tuesday this week I attended a regional gathering for the leaders in our Queensland Baptist (QB) churches for the wide Bay Burnett. It is always a good time of sharing stories of God at work, hearing from QB leaders on the vision for next year and their heart.

1 interesting statistic they shared with us as a group is that when someone reads the Bible 4 times or more a week they are more likely to exponentially grow in their faith. If someone reads it 3 times or less a week they will stagnate or fall backwards. We have always known how important it is to read our Bible and these days people are doing research to prove what we know the Bible tells us.

The more we read and meditate on scripture the more it sinks into our mind, the more we understand it and the more we apply it to our lives. We need to be regularly reading God's word if we want to grow. Are you reading His word at least 4 times a week? If not how can you make this happen? If you are already reading it more than 4 times a week how can you encourage someone else to read their Bible more?

James
