Grateful Living

By Matt & Carmen Pampeyan
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27.
Bayside Christian College is a breath of fresh air to the Hervey Bay community. The grounds are lush and beautiful, and the feeling of peace is tangible. God’s word is prominently displayed, and Christian values and character are strived for. Working in a Christian school and serving together as chaplains is truly an answer to prayer.
As chaplains, we are always ready to lend a helping hand. I (Carmen) was recently called to the office to assist a distressed student. The student was in tears and reluctant to attend class. Instead of offering a temporary distraction, I listened and offered a prayer. As I prayed, I witnessed the transformative power of God's peace washing over the student. By the time I finished the prayer, the tears had ceased, and we walked to class together without any hesitation.
This is the gift and beauty of God’s peace! The ability to openly discuss God and pray with students is truly life-affirming. Guiding others towards Jesus is a privilege we deeply respect. Serving as the Chaplains at Bayside Christian College is a responsibility we hold with great honour and gratitude.
